Minor flooding will continue to affect fields, rural roads, and gardens. Very little rain is forecast for Tuesday (07/01/2025), with more rain forecast on Wednesday (08/01/2025) and possibly wintery showers. The river should continue to fall, but minor flood impacts could remain near Fittleworth until Wednesday (08/01/2025). Another 10-20mm of rain is forecast on Friday (10/01/2025). River levels could rise again on Wednesday evening and Friday. Early actions to reduce potential impacts at Fittleworth are encouraged. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Flood water will affect Fittleworth Mill, and nearby properties in Fittleworth. The B2138 Lower Street Road, over the river at Fittleworth, could be affected by flood water. Only isolated showers are forecast on Monday. The river should begin to fall by 15:00 06/01/2025, but will not fall nearer to a normal level until midweek at the earliest. River levels could peak a little higher than in November 2024. The river is expected to continue falling. Flooding will remain close to properties at Fittleworth, through Friday and continue to affect fields, rural roads and gardens in the area. At Fittleworth, the Western Rother will remain higher than normal through to next week. On Sunday 01/12/2024, another 10-20mm of rain is forecast. The Western Rother is expected to rise again, although currently not thought to rise as high. However, minor flood impacts could still be possible. Early actions to reduce potential impacts at Lodsbridge and Fittleworth are encouraged. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will re-issue this Flood Warning if property flooding becomes expected.

From 22:00 27/11/2024 flooding will be extensive in fields. Flood water will affect Fittleworth Mill, and nearby properties in Fittleworth. The B2138 Lower Street road over the river at Fittleworth could be affected by flood water. Only isolated showers are forecast Wednesday evening through to Saturday. The river should begin to fall by 14:00 28/11/2024, but will not return nearer to a normal level until next week. River levels could end up similar to heights seen in January 2024. River levels are still high on the Western Rother, but are now beginning to fall, after Storm Dennis's widespread heavy rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, gardens, roads near Lower Street, Fittleworth. Large amounts of water will be in the fields. Properties that may still be affected include Mill Properties and cottages close to Fittleworth Bridge. Please continue to take care in and around flood affected areas, flood water can contain hidden dangers. Rain has now cleared, and only isolated showers are expected until Thursday 20/2/2020. These showers are unlikely to cause river levels to rise significantly, if at all. River levels may not return to normal until Wednesday morning 19/2/2020. River levels are rising in Fittleworth and property flooding is expected from 17:00 16/02/2020. Storm Dennis has brought 50 mm of rain to the Western Rother. This is a significant amount. In addition extensive water affecting fields, gardens, roads is expected. Impacts could be similar to Christmas 2013. Locations could include: Mill properties and cottages close to Fittleworth Bridge. Large amounts of water will be in the fields. Lower Street will be affected by flood water. With rain easing and only isolated showers through to midweek, river levels should begin to fall by Tuesday 18/02/2020.
